The Brittanys

Brittina's Copper Penny UD
3/31/84 - 1/2/99

Winning a major, 1986

Copper and me, 1997

Copper was my first CDX and first UD dog and she helped me raise my first four litters of Border Collies. She took over the job of protecting me after Brandy died, and she took that job very seriously. She loved to chase frisbees and bumpers and was a natural at finding birds in the field. Sleep well, my friend. I miss you.

Bo, Fondue and Copper, with their favorite retrieving toy

Bob-Bon's Riverboat Gambler CD
1/14/86 - 10/1/90

This is one of my favorite pictures of Bo. He was such a happy dog and his greatest gift to me was that he was always able to make me smile.

Bo earned his AKC CD title before eye disease ended his obedience career and, eventually, his life.

Bo and Fondue - best friends

Alceon Fond Mem'ries of Oelamp
6/2/89 - 6/6/91

This is Fondue, winning her second point toward her AKC Championship. Unfortunately, Fondue suffered from severe hip displaysia and was in too much pain on a daily basis for me to watch her suffer, so I let her go to the Rainbow Bridge.

Fondue and I didn't have much time together, but we had fun while she was here. When I lost Bo, Fondue grieved for months. After she was put to rest, I pictured a glorious reunion at Rainbow Bridge.

Not only did Copper protect me, but she also assumed responsibility for caring for the younger dogs. Here's a picture of her keeping close contact with puppy Fondue.
