UACHX UCDX Lindsey UD MX AXJ ROMX
January 27, 1989 - March 14, 2000
Lindy was the foundation of Oelamp Border Collies. I have to thank my good friend, Gail Galioto, for bringing Lindy into my life. Gail saw an ad for Border Collie puppies and called me about it. We went to look at the puppies, and the breeder told me she had two adults she was trying to place, a male and a female.
To make a long story short, it was love at first sight. Lindy and I bonded almost immediately. She was 2 1/2 when I met her, and she grew closer to me every year.
In addition to the titles listed below, Lindy earned the Border Collie Society of America's ROMX title, which stands for Register of Merit Excellent. This title is based on the accomplishments of Lindy's offspring who, as you can see throughout the rest of this website, are very accomplished, indeed.
Lindy earned her CD, CDX and UD in AKC obedience, and her CD and CDX in UKC obedience. She enjoyed the Novice work, but the out of sight stays in Open were very stressful for her, as was her utility work, so I retired her from the obedience ring.
Lindy began her agility career in 1995 in UKC. She was one of the first four dogs in the US to earn the U-ACHX title, which was, at that time, UKC's highest agility title. Lindy earned her AKC MX title in October, 1998 at just shy of 10 years old. She was working on her AKC MXJ up to two days before she died, and loved every moment of it.
Lindy's first home was a sheep ranch, where she learned to herd and knew more about herding than I do. She passed on that love of sheep, as well as her love of agility and her strong desire to please, to her offspring, as the rest of this site demonstrates.
